Skin Folds

Any dog that has excessive skin folds such as Pugs, Shar Pei’s, Bulldogs and their mixes, are prone to moist exudative inflammation of their skin with secondary bacterial and yeast infection.  If you notice red, inflamed, moist tissue within the fold of your dog’s skin, you should bring your dog to your veterinarian to have them evaluated for the appropriate treatment.

Chronic skin issues can become a very serious problem if not given timely attention.  A problem that can easily be fixed with skin wipes and a short course of antibiotics can easily turn into a fulminant systemic infection with deadly consequences.
